Join the conversation : The importance of embracing Neurodiversity in Tech & Cyber

your bullyproof life Jul 01, 2020

The Netflix series "Atypical"  >>Official trailer<<  is a coming of age story that follows Sam (played by Keir Gilchrist), an 18-year-old on the autistic spectrum as he searches for love and independence. Sam can’t always articulate what’s in his head and uses art to get his point across in a way that feels authentic. Sam is on his funny yet emotional journey of self-discovery, the rest of his family must grapple with change in their own lives as they all struggle with the central theme: what does it really mean to be normal?

I cannot wait to speak to Sam Warner (different Sam!) on Thursday 2nd July @ 3pm BST, about Neurodiversity in the Tech & Cyber sectors. Sam was formally diagnosed with Autism at the age of 35 and has also suffered at the hands of many mean bullies.

Today Sam is a passionate communications expert... because communication isn’t optional, we can all do some work on getting our message across. Sam’s 24+ years in corporate has given her the insight to create The Rules of Engagement. A programme that helps organisations to integrate neurodiversity into teams and improve internal communications and behaviours.

As with all my interviews on >>Your BullyProof Life<< you'll go away with some real practical tips on how to embrace the talents of neurodiverse minds and how to accommodate all needs, including:

  • Adaptations to work practices or routine.
  • Changes to interview processes and team culture.

PLUS: The importance of checking in with an expert on how to educate the workforce. Sam is THAT expert so come and join us! Bring along your questions - we'll leave plenty of time for Q&A.

Lack of info and education is the #1 reason for discrimination and conflict.

I believe that we all have a moral responsibility to equip ourselves with a deep understanding of neurodiversity and the skills to truly embrace all the magnificently diverse minds around us; to make our workplace cultures truly inclusive - a place where everyone feels welcome and at home.

See you on Thursday 2 July @ 3 pm BST.
